Woody Underwood, (son of Mitch and Sue) a junior at the University of Connecticut, majoring in physics, was recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa. PBK is the oldest international honor society in the nation.  He is one of only 12 Juniors at the University to be inducted for the 2009 school year and the only physics major to be inducted as a junior.

Woody is also a member of
of Sigma Pi Sigma an honor society for physics. He has been on the Dean's list every semester.

Woody plans on continuing his physics studied in graduate school after graduation from Uconn. He is currently involved in research on a theoretical subatomic particle called a
Gluon.
